ASTRALPOOL Short Commercial Sand Filters are constructed with non-corrosive polyester resins and fiberglass. The interior water contact surface is an Isothalic and NPG gel-coat that provides superior protection against chemical and media abrasion. The gel-coat surface is backed with a hand-laminated layer consisting of polyester resin, chopped and woven fiberglass matting for additional strength. Short 42" & 47" filters are filament wound using using continuous strand fiberglass and resins in both the radial & polar for unsurpassed strength. All internal plumbing is assembled using a 235-psi rated PVC piping. Laterals are a patented injection molded polypropylene with 360° openings to minimize head-loss and optimize backwashing effectiveness. With a bed depth of 18”, 42" & 47" Short commercial filters are intended for semi-commercial applications or large residential high-end custom pools. Ideally recommended to replace multiple filter systems consisting of three or more 30”/36” filters in tandem. ASTRALPOOL Short Commercial Filters come standard with: Male Slip Unions, Pressure Gauge, Air & Drain Valves, and 2” Sand Drain.
